About Scott



Scott Wendel, the founder of Wendel Solutions, began his sales career at the age of eight. After observing the poor service provided by two competitive paperboys, Scott set out to obtain their routes and increase his income.  Scott hand-wrote note cards that described what he could offer over the other carriers and placed them in the doors of his prospects.  Soon, he was delivering newspapers to every house in his town. When his involvement in athletics took valuable time away from his paper route, he sub-contracted his sister, teaching her the route and the techniques. By teaching his sister the ropes, he upheld the level of service and quality that he promised his customers.

 
Times sure have changed since then, but Scott's commitment to outstanding service has not faltered.  Although he is known for his abilities in solution selling, Scott has never lost sight of  “treating everyone like you’d want to be treated”.  Scott's motto is, “There’s always someone out there who needs to save money, and if they give me a minute I can show them”. 


Scott has been awarded numerous accolades and awards in his lengthy career such as:

  • Certified Oil Monitoring Analyst (OMA I) from the Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers
  • Certified Machine Lubrication Technician (MLT I) from the International Council for Machinery Lubrication (2010)
  • Elected three consecutive years to SWEPCO's President's Council (2008-2010)
  • SWEPCO Gold Award for Volume (2009)
  • SWEPCO Innovator Award for most new product sales to existing customers (2008)
  • 10th place Worldwide for SWEPCO orders (2008)
  • SWEPCO Watch Winner for Excellence in Customer Service (2007)
  • SWEPCO 2nd place Pathfinder Award for new accounts developed (2007)
  • SWEPCO Ring of Honor for sales volume (2007)
  • 3rd place Pathfinder Award for SWEPCO for new accounts developed (2006)
  • SWEPCO Rising Star Award presented for new account developed (2005)
